The Academic Manager, will be responsible for overseeing and managing all academic activities from grade 7 to 13. The academic Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing training programs, ensuring the quality of teaching, course production (online, face-to-face etc.) and assessment methods and working closely with the teaching staff and management.
Responsibilities and tasks :
Develop, implement and evaluate training programmes in accordance with the needs of the learners and the guidelines of the management
Plan and coordinate academic activities, including scheduling, faculty meetings, academic events, etc.
Ensuring the quality of teaching by proposing assessment methods, standards and tools, as well as providing academic support to teachers where necessary
Designing and standardising assessment procedures, course outlines and teaching materials in order to ensure the quality of training programmes
Report academic performance to management while implementing continuous improvement measures
Supervising and managing the activities of the teaching staff, including recruiting, training, coordinating and evaluating teachers
Core competencies :
Excellent management skills, including planning, organisation and monitoring
Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English (another language would be an asset, especially Mauritian Creole)
Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
Good knowledge of computer tools
Education and experience :
• Master’s degree in education, administration or a related field • PGCE certificate
