Job summary

The  Sociology teacher, will be responsible for teaching fundamental sociological concepts and theories to students. He/she will also be expected to actively participate in the development and improvement of the sociology curriculum to meet the expectations of the students and the school.

Responsibilities and tasks :

  • Design and implementation of sociology courses for first and last year students
  • Assessment of students’ performance and monitoring of their progress
  • Intervention in extra-curricular activities related to sociology
  • Working closely with other members of the teaching team to improve the quality of teaching
  • Actively participate in the development and revision of the sociology curriculum
  • To support students in their professional orientation and to help them understand the career opportunities related to sociology
  • Work with parents and guardians to provide reports on student progress and assessment

Core competencies :

  • Excellent knowledge of the basic theories and concepts of sociology.
  • A passion for teaching and an interest in the educational needs of young people.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently, manage priorities and multi-task.
  • A strong orientation towards research and pedagogy.

Education and experience :

  • A doctoral degree in sociology or a related field
  • Successful teaching experience in similar institutions
